Updated Rules Summer 2024

Team:

  1. Team rosters shall include a minimum of 6 players, including at least 2 of each gender.
  2. Each string (game) shall be played by 4 players, which shall alternate between strings so that everyone plays at least 1 string. 1 team member of each gender must show up to bowl in at least 1 string.  Failure to do so, will result in a 1 string forfeit each night but may bowl the final 2 strings without penalty as long as the minimum number of players is met. *For additional questions please see Forfeit Section.
  3. The minimum number of players at a match is 3.
  4. All players must be registered with the League to play with the team. Unregistered substitutes are not permitted. Any team found to be playing with an unregistered player will receive a 100 pin penalty in Each String and the unregistered player will be removed.  Multiple Illegal Players will lead to a forfeit.  In the Playoffs, any team with illegal players will suffer a forfeit.
  5. If you would like to participate with only 5, please note this in the comments section of your registration so Everplay can invoice you for those additional spots.  You can also mail us at [email protected] or text our hotline (803)-569-1912.  Reminder, every player that plays on your Roster MUST be signed up and paid for.
  6. Late Registration: a team may add players to the roster through the 4th week of the season.

Scoring:

  1. Each team shall track the scores on the provided score cards and turn them into the League Manager once the match is completed.
  2. No handicaps shall be used. The lowest score of each game shall be dropped, and only the top 3 scores shall be tallied to form the team score.
  3. The winner of match shall be the team that wins best of three in the match. Each game, however, is counted in the Standings as 1 point.  Example:  If you lose the first 2 games you still want to try and win the 3rd as it helps you in the standings when you look at PA (Points Allowed).

Equipment:

  1. All equipment, including shoes, shirt, and bowling balls shall be provided by the League at the Alley, however players may use their own shoes or bowling balls.

Forfeits:

  1. Teams must be ready to play and meet game start requirements at the posted game time. The grace period is 5 minutes after the scheduled game time, if a team is not ready, the opposing team will be awarded the first string.  After 10 minutes, they will be awarded the second string.  After 15 minutes, the game will end 3-0.
  2. You need at least 1 of each gender by the 5, 10, 15 min grace period or you forfeit a string (game).  If they show up within the grace period they are eligible to participate without forfeiting.  Example: If a team has 3 males and no females and it is 6 min past game time they will start down 0-1 but if a female shows before the 10 minute mark they can start the 2nd game without forfeiting another string (game).
  3. If a team does not have any female for the night and has 3 males they start down 0-1 but are eligible to play the final 2 strings without penalty.  If neither team meet the gender requirements they will play the normal 3 strings (games) without penalty as long as the minimum number of players are met for each team.
  4. If neither team is ready to play, both teams shall forfeit.
  5. If forfeits occur, that is Ok!  We wont kick you out the league!  Whoever can still make it can come bowl for fun, as the lanes are paid for during league season hours 6:45pm-9:30pm. =)

Game:

  1. Each team shall play 3 strings (games) against an opposing opponent. The team with the highest point total will win the game.
  2. Each team shall play 4 bowlers each string, at least one each gender.  If a team only has 3 people show up and meet the gender requirements, they can play with 3, but will not drop the lowest score.  Whatever the team scores with their 3, in this situation, will be the team's score.
  3. If any strings are TIED, the deciding factor will be the teams highest bowlers score.  (Example: If both teams are TIED at the end of a string and Team A's highest bowler is 150 and Teams B's is 149 then Team A wins that string.)

Playoff Format:

  1. The top 8 teams (after six weeks of play) will be placed into a seeded single elimination bracket.
  2. One string (game) during playoffs. Example: 1-0.
  3. If a tie happens, teams will use their 4th Bowler's Score as the tiebreaker.
  4. If teams do not have 1 team member of each gender show up to bowl in playoffs it will result in a 1 string forfeit which will forfeit the playoffs for that team.
